Common Name: Purple Coral-pea
Synonym:

Size: Trailer to 2m
Description: Wiry twining or prostrate subshrub. More vigorous and shrubby forms are not local to the Shire.
Leaves: Leathery dark green egg-shaped to lance-shaped leaves with network of veins, paler below, 2-10cm x 0.5-6cm.
Flowering: Large sprays of 20-40 pea flowers, massed along branches. White and pink forms are available commercially but are not local.
Flower Colour: Deep purple with green centre
Flowering Time: July to November
Growing Conditions: Well drained soils in dryish open forests and woodlands. Tolerates light frosts. Full sun, semi-shade.
Garden Use: Very showy scrambler which will lightly twine over shrubs and on trellises or remain flat. Many forms commercially available.
