Common Name: Austral Brooklime
Synonym:
Family: Scrophulariaceae
Size: 30cm x 0.5-1.5m
Description: Sprawling to erect perennial herb, rooting at nodes.
Leaves: Pairs of light green egg-shaped, stem-clasping leaves, 1.5-4.5cm x 6-27mm, margins toothed.
Flowering: Single trumpet flowers, 6-12mm long in leaf axils, stalkless or shortly stalked.
Flower Colour: Pink with reddish stripes
Flowering Time: October to May
Growing Conditions: Silt or mud in swamps and in shallow water to 15cm. Full sun to full shade.
Garden Use: Plant on edges of ponds and in permanently wet areas. Spreads by suckering.
