Support for Community Groups

We provide a range of services to support community groups and organisations across Yarra Ranges to improve their operations and activities to better meet the needs of their local communities. We run a range of training workshops to build the skills of your community group. Please check out our Events Calendar for current workshops and training.

Do you need to promote your events?

As a community group, you can also add your own events that are of community interest to the online events calendar that appears on this website. 

Are you listed on the Yarra Ranges Community Directory?

Use the Yarra Ranges Community Directory to seek out and locate the many community groups and organisations that are active in Yarra Ranges.

Does your group need extra funds?

We offer Community Grants which open in February each year. 

To plan for your project and funding application we recommend discussing your ideas with us as early as possible. For more information visit  the Grants for the Community page or go to the links on this page to seek funding from other sources.

Do you need additional volunteers?

For ideas and resources on how to recruit and retain volunteers for your community organisation go to the Volunteer in Yarra Ranges page or the Volunteer XCHANGE.

Does your group need training?

We offer free or low cost training for your community groups and volunteers. This training is often provided in association with other community training providers. Visit our Community Training Calendar for details on local and upcoming workshops, seminars, information sessions and conferences.
