Road Safety

Road trauma has a devastating and long lasting impact on individuals, families and communities. Road trauma is preventable and with a focused effort from the Federal and State Governments, Yarra Ranges Council, stakeholders and the community, much can be achieved.

We are committed to continually improving the health and wellbeing of residents and the more than 2.2 million people who visit the municipality each year through supporting the Roadwise Committee in the development and implementation of the Road Safety Strategy and Action Plan.

The Yarra Ranges Road Safety Strategy and Action Plan has been developed in recognition that road safety is a responsibility shared by many. This is reflected in the membership of the Roadwise Committee who play an integral role in the ongoing development, implementation and monitoring of this strategy.

Lessons from the Road features an online mentor who guides the supervising driver through eight videos, which follow the stories of three learner drivers and their parents.
