Health Registration
Public Health and Wellbeing Act 2008
There are a range of businesses required to be registered under the Public Health and Wellbeing Act 2008, including:
- Beauty parlours
- Body waxing
- Colonic irrigation
- Hairdressers
- Nail treatment
- Piercing (ear, face and/or body)
- Tattooists
- Dry needling
- Accommodation
These businesses are inspected by Environmental Health Officers to make sure they comply with the relevant regulations and standards of practice. There are also a number of compliance issues and health standards to consider if you are running a personal care business.
Exemptions
Businesses that do not require council registration:
- Solariums, Saunas, Floatation Tanks, Gymnasiums
