Reimbursement of building permit fees

The State Department of Treasury and Finance has announced building permit fees for fire-affected properties will continue to be reimbursed until 31 December 2011.

Private building surveyors should claim the reimbursement directly from us. You can download the form from this page or contact our Planning Services team on 9294 6222.

If you have already paid for building permits provided by private building surveyors you can also claim reimbursement. You will need to contact our Planning Services team and provide a copy of the receipt and your Council Planning Approval Letter.

How the council can help

If you are thinking of rebuilding on your property we have a 'fast-track' planning permit process to help you if your property was affected by the bushfires.

We can give you professional advice and will waive any associated application fees. For more information contact our Planning Services team on 9294 6222.

Free on-site inspections by a Health Officer are available to assess the current condition of your septic system prior to rebuilding or occupancy. For an on-site inspection or advice contact our Public Health Services team on 9294 6415.
