| Council's Emergency and Safety Unit will: | | • Improve and maintain the council’s emergency management systems, resources and personnel to ensure efficient and effective response to emergency situations. • Strengthen the community’s resilience by fostering an emergency prepared and safety culture within the Shire. • Provide services to improve community safety and preparedness for emergencies. • Work with other council departments and external organisations to promote community safety throughout the Shire on key issues. • Perform statutory requirements relating to fire prevention and emergency management. • Undertake research and development to provide direction, improvement and efficiencies in community safety and emergency planning and management. • Provide support to key emergency and safety stakeholders within the Shire. | |
