Council's Emergency and Safety Unit will:

 • Improve and maintain the council’s emergency management systems, resources and personnel to ensure efficient and effective response to emergency situations.
• Strengthen the community’s resilience by fostering an emergency prepared and safety culture within the Shire.
• Provide services to improve community safety and preparedness for emergencies.
• Work with other council departments and external organisations to promote community safety throughout the Shire on key issues.
• Perform statutory requirements relating to fire prevention and emergency management.
• Undertake research and development to provide direction, improvement and efficiencies in community safety and emergency planning and management.
• Provide support to key emergency and safety stakeholders within the Shire.

Please note 000 is not an information service and should only be dialled for emergency calls when the attendance of emergency services is required.
