Our CEO

Glenn Patterson commenced as Yarra Ranges Council CEO in July 2008, previously being the Baw Baw Council CEO from January 2005.

Glenn has 22 years senior management experience with a number of metropolitan and rural councils and was first appointed a CEO at the Colac Otway Shire in 1998.

He also spent a period as the Chief Executive of a Melbourne based property development group. This led to Glenn owning and operating a property related business on the Mornington Peninsula.

Professionally, Glenn is driven by a desire to develop communities and people.  He thrives on innovation and improvement, enjoys taking in the big picture, working on the business and providing strong leadership.  Most of all, he likes to get things done and to see people growing, learning and making a contribution to improving themselves, the organisation and the community.

Glenn believes emotional intelligence and effective relationships are the essence of success in local government, in all forms of business and happiness in life.

Glenn is married to Vicci, with two boys, Thomas 16 and James 14.  He enjoys the gym and a range of water sports.

Glenn has a business degree, a Master of Business and a Company Directors Course Diploma.
