Community Profiles (Demographics)

Community profiles provide population statistics and information about key characteristics of the people who live in the Yarra Ranges.

Community profiles are currently be available for:

• the Yarra Ranges municipality 
• 21 small areas or localities

Summary demographic data is also available for:

• 38 townships
• 29 postcodes

The Community Profiles include information from the 1991, 1996, 2001 and 2006 Censuses of Population and Housing and conducted by the Australian Bureau of Statistics. 2011 Census data will also be available in these profiles at the end of September 2012.

The Community Indicators report provides a snapshot of the Yarra Ranges environment, community and economy. It includes a broad range of indicator data grouped under the seven themes used in Vision 2020, our Community Plan.

The report provides an overview of the state of the Yarra Ranges to assist community groups, service providers, business, council and residents to plan and make descisions for the future.
