Tell Us Your Skills was developed in response to the increasing number of businesses in the Yarra Ranges who were seeking additional staff to meet their growing needs. It is also a great way to increase people's awareness of the diverse emplyment opportunities local industry offers.
It you are looking for work in the Yarra Ranges or if you are a local business looking for employees it's simply a matter of registering as an individual or employer. Once this is done employers will be sent automatic emails about people who match the nominated area of work. If the employer is interested in learning more about you they can email you with their details and a request to contact them. All registered employers have access to the existing database of individuals looking for work in the Yarra Ranges area.
This program has been designed to be a simple and easy tool for employers and individuals looking work, while being easy to manage and cost effective for us to operate. The system is largely automated but still maintains a high level of privacy.
Once you have registered your details they are automatically added to the skills database and a confirmation message is displayed, as well as confirmation email being sent to you. Email notifications will also be sent to relevant registered employers.
You will then receive emails from any interested employers and after 55 days you will receive an invitation to renew their registration before it expires in five days time (60 days). You can also login and update your profile at any time.
If you register as an employer a confirmation email will be sent and you will continue to automatically receive details of any new individual registrations that match your requirements. You can log in at any time to view any individuals who have previously registered. There is no need for you to renew your registration but you can update your profile at any time.
The automated process ensures employers are not aware of your email address, so it is up to you to decide how much personal information, such as name, age and address, you provide in the registration process. However, you are encouraged to ensure the information given is accurate and inclusive enough for prospective employers to have enough information to judge whether they wish to speak to you further.
It should be note that anyone can register and registrations are not moderated. As such the validity of people using this program cannot be assured and you should exercise caution when using it.
Employer registrations don't expire, but individual registrations lapse after 60 days to ensure the database is accurate. Individuals will receive a reminder their registration is due to expire and will have the opportunity to renew it for another 60 days.
When an employer receives an email containing your profile they can send an email request to you via the program which will send you their contact details and request you contact them. It is then up to you to decided whether or not you contact them and send your CV. (We do recommend you contact them as soon as possible) It will then be up to both you and the employer to arrange an interview.
