Agribusiness
Agribusiness is one of the Yarra Ranges' major industries and we work with the agricultural sector to plan and implement projects to support the sustainable use of resources. We also work with Agribusiness - Yarra Valley to strengthen the sector and create more employment opportunities.
The agricultural and horticultural production is estimated to be more than $650 million and growing. Major industries are nursery plants, viticulture and winemaking, floriculture, poultry production, berries, orchard fruit, vegetables and beef production.
More than 2,000 people are permanently employed in the sector, together with an additional 3,000 seasonal jobs. Most employees live in the Yarra Ranges.
Working in agriculture involves more than driving tractors or picking fruit, much of the work available in agribusiness is highly skilled, challenging and offers amazing career opportunities.
